Endep Generic

Amitriptyline (Elavil, Tryptizol, Endep) is a medicament psychoactive and a pharmaceutical product of the tricyclic (TCA) antidepressant the chemical class which is principally used as an antidepressant and an anxiolytic agent. It is TCA most widely prescribed and perhaps also the most efficient against the depressive symptoms.

Say to your doctor immediately or go to Accident and to Emergency in the closest hospital if you point out whatever of the following thing:

Stocking
Keep Endep where the children cannot attain him.

Ingredients

The tablets of Endep also contain following inactive ingredients:
* lactose
* microcrystalline cellulose
* disodium edetate
* starch of sodium glycollate
* starch of corn of pregelatinised
* colloidal anhydrous silica
* magnesium stearate
* the cleaned talc [10 mgs and 50 mgs only]
* Blue OY-B-30904 of Opadry (includes colours 133, 171) [10 mgs only]
* Yellow OY-LS-32814 of Opadry (includes colours 104, 110, 132, 171) [25 mgs only]
* OY-LS-37200 of Chamois of Opadry (includes colours 171, 172) [50 mgs only].
The tablets of Endep are the free gluten.

ENDEP 4 Generic

Keep all your appointments with your doctor so that your progress could be proved. Say to your doctor immediately if you become pregnant by taking Endep. Do not give up taking your tablets until you speak to your doctor. Before beginning any new medicine, say to your doctor or chemist that you take Endep. Said to all doctors, dentists and chemists who treat you that you take Endep. If you plan to have the surgery, by including the dental surgery, to say to your doctor or dentist that you take Endep.

Things you should not make
Do not drive or get to work machines until you know how Endep affects you.

For the same reasons, the children should not take up a bike, trees of escalation or to make anything other whom could be dangerous if they are made drowsy. Bed - wetting
Keep Endep of children's range. Do not give more Endep to your child than what is recommended by your doctor.

How to take it
Swallow the whole tablets with a water glass.
When to take it
Endep can be taken with or without food. Endep can be taken as a simple dose (eg. at bedtime) or as the divided doses
(eg. three times a day). Your doctor will recommend you.
Take your medicine in about the same time every day.

How long take it for
Depression
Continue taking Endep for as long as your doctor recommends.

Before you begin taking it

Do not take Endep if you take:

Wait at least 14 days having stopped your MAOI before beginning Endep. Say to your doctor if you take

How to take Endep
Follow all directions given to you by your doctor and chemist carefully.
They can differ from information contained in this booklet.
If you do not understand instructions on the packet, ask your doctor or chemist.
How much to take
The dose varies from the person to the person. Your doctor will decide on the good dose for you.
Depression
Endep is usually begun in a low dose and then, at the need, augmented according to how your symptoms improve and how well you tolerate him. For depression, the dose of ordinary departure is 75 mgs in 150 mgs a day in the divided doses.
For people being treated in the hospital for their depression, the dose of ordinary departure is 100 mgs in 200 mgs a day.
For the old persons, the lower doses are recommended, as Endep cannot be tolerated well in this age group. Your doctor can reduce your dose then to 50 mgs in 100 mgs a day when your depressive symptoms have mproved, according to your answer to Endep.

What Endep is used for
Endep is used to treat depression. Endep 10 mg and Endep 25 mg tablets can be used at any stage in the treatment of depression. However, the highest strength Endep 50 mg, is approved only for the maintenance treatment of depression (after your symptoms have improved). Endep belongs to a group of medicines called tricyclic antidepressants (TCAs). TCA medicines work by correcting the imbalance of certain chemicals in the brain. These chemicals, called amines, are involved in controlling mood. By correcting this imbalance, TCAs can help relieve the symptoms of depression. Endep can also be used to treat bed-wetting, provided that there is no physical cause for the problem (eg. problems with the bladder). Ask your doctor if you have any questions about why Endep has been prescribed for you.
Your doctor may have prescribed Endep for another reason.
Endep is not approved for use in children and adolescents below 18 years of age for the treatment of depression.
The safe use and effectiveness of Endep in treating the above condition, for this age group, has not been established.
Endep is available only with a doctor's prescription.
Before you take Endep
When you must not take it
Do not take Endep if you are allergic to medicines containing amitriptyline (e.g. Tryptanol) or any of the ingredients listed at the end of this leaflet.
Some of the symptoms of an allergic reaction may include skin rash, itching or hives; swelling of the face or tongue which may cause difficulty swallowing or breathing; increased sensitivity of the skin to the sun.
Do not take Endep if you have recently had a heart attack.
Taking Endep could make your condition worse.
Do not take Endep if you are taking, or have taken within the last 14 days another medicine for depression called a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI).
Taking Endep with a MAOI or taking it too soon after stopping a MAOI may cause a serious reaction with a sudden increase in body temperature, extremely high blood pressure and severe convulsions. Your doctor will tell you when it is safe to start taking Endep after stopping the MAOI.
Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are unsure if you are taking, or have been taking a MAOI.
MAOIs are medicines used to treat depression and symptoms of Parkinson's disease. Examples of MAOIs are phenelzine (Nardil), tranylcypromine (Parnate), moclobemide (eg. Aurorix, Arima) and selegiline (Eldepryl, Selgene).
Do not take Endep if you are taking cisapride (Prepulsid), a medicine used to treat stomach reflux.
Combining Endep with cisapride may cause serious side effects such as an abnormal heart rhythm.
Do not take Endep if you are breastfeeding.
Endep passes into breast milk and may harm your baby.
Do not take Endep if the expiry date (EXP) printed on the pack has passed.
If you take this medicine after the expiry date has passed, it may not work as well.
